Pollen decarboxylationThis method activates the cannabinoids in the resin before any culinary use. By gently heating the pollen, the inactive THCA is transformed into THC, ready to be infused into butter, oil, or other preparations.

I.

Cut your buds into small pieces by hand. You can use a grinder, but it's not necessary.

Preheat your oven to 110°C. Place the cannabis on a baking sheet. It is advisable to use parchment paper as it makes handling easier and reduces mess.

Place the baking tray with the cannabis in the oven for 40 minutes.

Like most other cannabinoids, CBD is initially found in an acidic form in the hemp flower. Thus, before being "activated," CBD is actually CBDA, just as THC is THCA.

To receive the plant's benefits, it's necessary to go through a decarboxylation process. This chemical process transforms the acidic cannabinoids into their active forms. It simply involves heating the hemp flower, and this can be done in various ways. Certain temperature and heating time conditions must be respected to achieve successful decarboxylation while preserving the flower's flavor.

It is advisable not to exceed a temperature of 130 degrees Celsius to preserve the terpenes and not to put undue stress on the cannabinoids present in the plant.
This recommended temperature limit should be considered in conjunction with a cooking time limit. The higher the temperature, the shorter the cooking time should be to preserve the flavor of the plant.
In summary, the higher the temperature, the less flavor will be preserved, but the effects of cannabis will be activated more quickly. Conversely, the lower the temperature, the more flavor will be preserved, but the effects will be less pronounced, and a longer cooking time will be required.
It therefore depends on what you are looking for. For a flavor-focused approach, we recommend a low temperature of around 60-80 degrees.
